As an enthusiastic user of HomeKit and智能家居技术爱好者, I’ve been diving into the latest updates and exploring compatibility with various devices. Today, I wanted to share some of my findings and experiences, as well as ask for advice from the community.
First off, I recently updated to iOS 12 Public Beta 3 and noticed some interesting changes in the Home app, particularly with camera devices. There seems to be a bug where the device tile for a camera isn’t displaying rounded corners, which is a bit odd. Additionally, when taking screenshots of the live camera feed, the image is automatically blacked out. While this could be a privacy feature, I’d love to see an option to disable it for those who want to showcase their camera setups. Has anyone else encountered this issue or found a workaround?
Another topic I’ve been exploring is device compatibility, especially with Home Assistant. I’ve come across some devices like the Sonoff SPM and the Aeotec Multisensor 6, and I’m curious about their integration. For instance, the Aeotec Multisensor 6 shows up in Home Assistant but isn’t displayed as a single cohesive item in the overview screen. Instead, it lists multiple readouts, some of which seem unnecessary. I’d appreciate any tips on how to streamline its appearance or functionality.
On the configuration front, I’ve been working with HABPanel and OpenHABian, and I’m trying to figure out where the dashboards and items files are stored on my Raspberry Pi. This knowledge would be incredibly helpful for backups and customizations. If anyone has insights or best practices on managing these files, I’d be grateful for the advice.
Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with setting up a presence-based lighting system. While the feature works well when I arrive home, I’ve noticed inconsistencies when I’m already at home. Some lights don’t activate consistently, and I’d love to add an offset to delay the activation slightly after sunset. If anyone has successfully implemented a similar setup or has tips on troubleshooting, please share!
This community is a fantastic resource, and I’m looking forward to learning from others’ experiences. Thanks in advance for your insights and suggestions!
