Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home technology lately and have decided to start with HomeMatic components. After some research, I opted for the HomeMatic IP system due to its simplicity and ease of use, especially with the app and Alexa integration. However, I’ve noticed some limitations, like the Hue bulbs not being as straightforward to control. I’m planning to use this system for basic security features—like window and door sensors, and maybe an outdoor siren or audio alert from a smoke detector. My main goal is to have the lights turn on if an alarm is triggered. I’m also curious about how the system handles situations where a window is still open when the alarm is activated. From what I gather, the system allows for timed or manual activation, but I’m not entirely sure how to set up delays or notifications for open windows. Would the HomeMatic IP be sufficient for these basic needs, or should I consider the CCU system instead? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences! ![]()
