Exploring Homey Automation with Philips Hue Scenes

Hey everyone! I’m relatively new to the world of smart home automation and I’m absolutely thrilled with how much I’ve been able to achieve with Homey. One feature that has me particularly excited is the ability to create and trigger scenes using Philips Hue lights. However, I’m hitting a bit of a snag and I’d love to hear from others who might have encountered similar challenges or have tips to share.

I recently set up a bedtime routine that’s supposed to turn off certain lights, dim others, and switch to night mode. It all works, but there’s a noticeable lag before I see any changes, which is a bit frustrating. Coming from a Vera setup, I’m used to things happening almost instantaneously, so this delay is making me question whether the routine is even running properly.

Here’s what I’m wondering:

  • Are all the actions in a rule executed simultaneously, or does Homey process them one by one? If it’s the latter, what determines the order?
  • Does Homey wait for confirmation that an action has been completed before moving on to the next one?
  • Is there a way to delay the switch to night mode by 5 minutes without having to create multiple rules? I tried adjusting the timing within the rule, but it didn’t seem to work as expected.

I’d really appreciate any insights or workarounds others might have. It’s been such a smooth experience overall, and I’m eager to refine these little quirks to make everything run like clockwork. Thanks in advance for your help!
