Exploring HTML5 Notifications and Camera Motion Detection

Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into setting up my Home Assistant environment on my Synology NAS using Docker, and I’ve encountered a few interesting challenges along the way. One of the features I’m really excited about is the HTML5 notifications, but I’ve hit a bit of a snag getting them to work properly. Despite setting up SSL, verifying my domain, and configuring the necessary API keys, the slider for accepting notifications hasn’t appeared in the sidebar. I’m curious if anyone has tips on testing each configuration step to ensure everything is set up correctly. Also, I’m wondering if the slider only shows up when accessing HA from outside my LAN—something that’s tricky for me to test right now due to my network setup. If anyone has successfully implemented HTML5 notifications, I’d love to hear about your setup and any troubleshooting steps you took!

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with motion detection on my outdoor cameras. I noticed that the detection range is limited to about 10-15 feet, which isn’t ideal for covering larger areas. I’d love to hear if others have experienced similar issues and what solutions they’ve found. Maybe adjusting the camera placement or updating the firmware could help improve detection range? It would be fantastic to have a more reliable system that can pick up motion from a greater distance, especially for monitoring areas like driveways or gardens.

If anyone has insights or tips on either of these topics, I’d be really grateful! Let’s keep the conversation going and share our experiences. Happy tinkering! :rocket:
