Exploring Hubitat: A Smooth Transition from SmartThings

After spending several months with SmartThings, I decided to switch to Hubitat for its seamless installation process and user-friendly interface. The transition has been quite smooth, but I have a few questions that I hope the community can help me with.

First, I’m curious about the difference between the Amazon Echo app and the Amazon Echo skill. I’ve noticed that both seem to control my devices, but I’m not entirely sure how they differ. Additionally, I’m using Philips Hue lights and the Hue Hub, but I’m wondering if the Hue Hub is truly necessary or if I can pair the bulbs directly with Hubitat. This is because I’ve noticed that when using the Amazon Echo app, my devices appear twice, which is a bit annoying.

Another thing I’m exploring is integrating multiple brands of smart devices. I’ve heard that Hubitat supports a wide range of devices, but I’m not entirely sure how to ensure compatibility across different brands. I’d love to hear from others who’ve successfully integrated multiple brands into their Hubitat setup.

Overall, I’m really enjoying the Hubitat ecosystem, but these questions are preventing me from fully optimizing my setup. Any insights or tips from the community would be greatly appreciated!
