Hello everyone,
I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I’m curious to hear your thoughts on whether Hubitat is worth the investment. Let me share my current setup and some of the questions I’ve been pondering.
Currently, I’ve got a decent collection of smart devices: about 30 Hue lights that automate beautifully, turning on at sunset and off at specific times; a Ring doorbell and security cameras that notify me seamlessly; some Ikea lightbulbs for a specific area (though they haven’t been as reliable as I hoped); and a few HomePod Minis sprinkled throughout the house. I’ve also got Google and Amazon voice assistants, along with Sony and Apple TVs, all working smoothly together.
Despite all this, I’m wondering if Hubitat could add that extra layer of functionality I’m seeking. From what I’ve read, Hubitat seems to offer more advanced automation capabilities and better integration across devices. But is it really necessary when my phone can handle most tasks?
I’ve heard Hubitat is particularly great for creating complex scenes and automations, which sounds perfect for someone like me who loves tweaking their setup. However, I’m also a bit hesitant about the learning curve and whether it’s worth the investment when everything seems to be working fine already.
Has anyone here made the switch to Hubitat? What scenarios have you found it indispensable for? I’d love to hear your experiences and any tips you might have for someone considering taking the plunge.
Cheers,
