Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting and wanted to share my journey and some questions I’ve come across. I recently set up several Hue bulbs around my home, all connected to a Hue bridge which is integrated with my OpenHab system. It’s been a great experience so far, but I’m now looking to take it a step further by controlling these bulbs with physical devices like switches or dimmers.
While I know there’s a Hue remote available, it only controls on/off, dimming, and scenes—not the color. Since my bulbs are color-capable, I’d love to find a way to adjust the color using a physical device as well. I’ve heard zwave devices might be a solution since I already use zwave in my setup. Has anyone successfully integrated zwave devices for this purpose? Any tips or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
On another note, I’ve been exploring the new Hubitat platform and its integration with Zigbee and Z-Wave devices. It’s impressive how seamless it is compared to some older systems I’ve tried. However, I’m still learning the ropes and would love to hear from others who’ve made the switch or have tips for optimizing their setups.
If anyone has faced similar challenges or has advice on integrating physical controls with Hue bulbs, please share your insights. I’m eager to learn and enhance my smart home setup!
Cheers,
Stefan
