Exploring HVAC Automation and Camera Troubleshooting

I’ve been diving into the world of HVAC automation lately, and it’s been quite an adventure! My goal is to set up a system where a momentary switch in the bathroom can trigger high-speed ventilation in my HVAC system. The challenge here is that the bathroom and HVAC aren’t directly wired, so I need a remote solution. I’ve considered using a wireless button, maybe something like a doorbell-style device, but I’m not entirely sure how to rewire it to connect with a relay. If anyone has creative workarounds or suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

On another note, I’ve been experiencing some issues with my Wyze camera. The blue light stopped working, but the camera itself still functions fine. I’ve tried resetting it and checking the connections, but no luck so far. Has anyone encountered this issue or found a solution? It would be great to get that blue light back working for better visibility!

Speaking of troubleshooting, I’ve also been exploring the KNX binding in my setup. It’s been mostly reliable, but occasionally it stops sending data to the bus. This is a bit concerning, especially when I’m not at home. I’ve tried restarting the binding through a shell script, but the issue persists. I’m curious if others have faced similar problems and how they’ve resolved them. Any tips or workarounds would be appreciated!

Lastly, I came across an interesting project involving Prometheus metrics for OpenHAB. The idea of exposing internal system health metrics to Grafana sounds fantastic for monitoring and diagnostics. However, integrating logging metrics has proven tricky. If anyone has experience with this or knows how to hook up logging appenders in an OSGi environment, I’d be grateful for some guidance!

Overall, it’s been a mix of challenges and learning opportunities. I’m excited to see how these projects unfold and can’t wait to share more as I make progress!
