I’ve been diving into the world of Home Assistant and have recently started exploring Hyperion NG for my RGB lighting setup. It’s been an exciting journey, but I’ve encountered a few hurdles that I’d love to discuss with the community.
Initially, I set up three separate Hyperion instances, each controlling different zones of my home. Everything was working smoothly until I upgraded my machine. Now, when I try to add the second Hyperion install to Home Assistant, it throws an error saying ‘Already Configured.’ This is puzzling because both installations are entirely new and not reused from my previous setup. The logs indicate successful connections to both servers, which adds to the confusion.
I’ve also noticed that the third Hyperion instance doesn’t connect at all, even when I test it on a separate Raspberry Pi. This inconsistency is frustrating, especially since I was looking forward to automating my lighting scenes across all zones.
Has anyone else faced similar issues when migrating or upgrading their setups? I’m curious to know if there’s a workaround or a setting I might be missing. Additionally, I’m wondering if there’s a more efficient way to manage multiple Hyperion instances within Home Assistant to avoid these configuration conflicts.
Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated! I’m eager to get all my zones up and running seamlessly. ![]()
