I recently came across the LINKIND Matter over Wi-Fi Light Bulbs and decided to give them a try with my Homey Pro 2023 setup. These bulbs are quite affordable, especially the A19 Fitting available at $24.99 for a pack of 4 or the E27 Fitting priced at £7.00 each in the UK. I was curious to see if they would integrate seamlessly without needing their own dedicated app, as I’ve had mixed experiences with other smart devices in the past.
After some research, I found out that Matter over Thread devices don’t require an app, but I wasn’t sure about Matter over Wi-Fi. I reached out to the community and received some helpful feedback, which confirmed that these bulbs should work right out of the box with Homey without any additional apps. That’s a relief because it means less clutter on my phone!
I also explored the compatibility of Zigbee devices with Matter, but it seems they aren’t directly compatible, which is something to keep in mind if you’re mixing old and new technologies. Overall, I’m excited to see how these bulbs perform in my setup and look forward to sharing more insights as I continue experimenting with them.
