Exploring Lutron Caseta Integration and Remote Control Solutions

Hello fellow smart home enthusiasts! I’ve been diving into the world of Lutron Caseta switches and hubs, and I must say, they’ve been a fantastic addition to my home automation setup. The ability to control lighting scenes and schedules from my smartphone has completely transformed how I manage my home’s ambiance. However, I’ve come across an interesting challenge that I’m eager to explore further with the community.

Currently, I’m in the process of expanding my kitchen with new built-in cabinets, which will include under-cabinet lighting and toe-kick LED strips. The existing lighting setup is managed by two Lutron Caseta switches, and everything is working seamlessly. However, the new cabinets are positioned far enough from the existing units that running physical switches isn’t feasible. This has led me to explore options for remote control solutions within the Lutron ecosystem.

I initially hoped to use a remote relay to extend the control from the existing switches to the new cabinets. After some research, it seems that such a relay doesn’t exist within the Lutron product lineup. This has left me with the option of installing new Lutron switches at the new cabinets and linking them to the existing system. While this is a viable solution, I was wondering if there’s a more elegant or alternative approach that I might be overlooking.

Has anyone encountered a similar situation and found a workaround or a different integration that could achieve this? I’m particularly interested in hearing about experiences with third-party relays or smart switches that might integrate smoothly with Lutron Caseta. Additionally, if anyone has successfully linked multiple Caseta switches across different zones, I’d love to hear about your setup and any tips you might have.

On a related note, I’ve also been exploring the integration of other smart home devices, such as Wyze cameras and Shelly relays, and I’m curious about how others balance device compatibility and ecosystem integration. It’s a fascinating space to be in, and I’m eager to learn from the collective wisdom of this community!

Looking forward to your insights and experiences!
