Exploring M580 Modicon Input Range and Current Consumption

Hi everyone, I’m currently working on a project involving the M580 Modicon Input module and came across some interesting challenges. I wanted to share my experiences and see if anyone else has encountered similar issues or has advice to share.

First, I’m curious about the Floating/Real Value range for the M580 Modicon Input. From what I understand, the maximum real value is 3.402E+38, but when I tried passing this value to the input, it resulted in an infinity symbol (1#INF). This has been a bit of a hurdle in my project. Does anyone have insights or workarounds for this issue?

Additionally, I’m experimenting with the minimum positive real value for the Modicon M580 Input. I’d appreciate any suggestions or best practices for setting this value to ensure smooth operation.

On a different note, I recently upgraded my system from SDK2.3 to SDK2.6 and noticed a significant increase in current consumption. Before the upgrade, my system consumed about 84uA (with the LED off), but after the upgrade, it jumped to 3.81mA after a power cycle. This has raised some concerns about power efficiency. I’m curious if others have experienced similar issues and if there are any known fixes or optimizations to mitigate this increase.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has worked with these modules or faced similar challenges. Whether it’s tips, tricks, or just general advice, I’m all ears!

Best regards,
