Exploring Matter Support and Camera Compatibility in Smart Home Setup

Hi everyone, I’m currently working on integrating some new devices into my smart home setup and have a few questions and experiences to share. First, I’ve been developing a Matter-enabled Smart Switch Panel and noticed that the Alexa Echo Gen 4 only supports the Generic Switch device type for Matter switches. I’m curious to know if support for On/Off Light Switch or Dimmer Switch device types is planned for future updates. Additionally, when using the Generic Switch device type with multiple endpoints, only the first endpoint appears in the Alexa UI after provisioning. Is this expected behavior, and will support for multiple endpoints be added? I’d love to hear your thoughts or experiences with this.

On another note, I recently installed a lock bolt and had some initial issues with the auto-lock feature not respecting the disable period. After some troubleshooting, I found that resetting the lock helped, but I’m still curious if others have encountered similar issues. I’m also exploring camera compatibility, specifically the Foscam FI8910E, and wondering if it’s compatible with the VeraLite Home Controller. I’ve set up a network ping flow to monitor device connectivity, but I’m looking for ways to dynamically interpret different IP addresses for more precise notifications. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Lastly, I’m really enjoying my new Govee Gaming Light Bars H6047. They fit perfectly in my setup, and the customizable G logo adds a nice touch. I’m excited to try out different configurations and see how they enhance my gaming experience. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your insights and recommendations!
