Hi everyone, I’m excited to share my recent journey with integrating Modbus into my smart home setup. As someone who loves tinkering with automation, I’ve been working on connecting my Wago 750-881 PLC with OpenHAB 2. It’s been a fascinating process, though not without its challenges!
Initially, I managed to set up my digital outputs (DOs) without any issues—they worked perfectly right out of the box. However, getting the digital inputs (DI) and analogue inputs (AI) to communicate has been a bit of a puzzle. Despite configuring the addresses correctly and ensuring all items are online, the logs aren’t showing any incoming data from the sensors. I’ve tried adjusting the pollers and even reached out to the community for advice, but it’s still a work in progress. If anyone has tips on troubleshooting Modbus data flow, I’d be grateful!
On a lighter note, I’ve also been exploring the latest updates from Govee. Their new app version, 4.9.0, brings some exciting features like the NFC tag functionality and enhanced Light Studio. It’s amazing how these updates make controlling my smart lights even more intuitive. I’ve started experimenting with creating custom lighting effects and can’t wait to see how this evolves!
Another project I’m passionate about is setting up voice-controlled greetings with Vera Alerts. I’d love to have a message that includes the current time and temperature when I open a door. While I’ve figured out the basics, I’m still looking into how to incorporate real-time data seamlessly. If anyone has experience with Vera Alerts or Luup code, I’d love to hear your insights!
Lastly, I’d like to thank everyone in this community for their incredible support and shared knowledge. It’s truly inspiring to see how we can all learn and grow together in the world of smart home automation. Here’s to many more projects and discoveries ahead!
