I’ve been trying to modernize my home’s gate and intercom system, and I’d love to hear others’ experiences and recommendations. Currently, I have a setup with two gates controlled by DKS 1812 systems, connected to a PagePac Door Controller and a Panasonic TDA100 PBX. While everything works, it’s outdated and not mobile-friendly. My goals are to replace the old system with something camera-enabled, mobile-capable, and integrated into my smart home ecosystem. I’ve come across the Door King product as a potential replacement for the DKS, but I’m not sure how it integrates with the rest of my setup. Does anyone have experience with modern gate control systems that can replace legacy hardware seamlessly? Additionally, I’d love to find a way to eliminate the old ‘dumb’ intercom/doorbell system and replace it with something that can notify me via my phone or smart devices when someone arrives, even if my phone is in another room. Any suggestions or success stories would be incredibly helpful! ![]()
