Exploring Motion Sensors and Integration Solutions

Hello everyone, I’ve been exploring different motion sensors for my home security setup and came across an interesting topic regarding non-pet immune motion detectors. I don’t have pets, so I’m curious if there are sensors that don’t have pet immunity but offer better range detection, especially if someone crawls on all fours. This could be crucial for detecting intruders effectively. Has anyone experimented with such sensors and noticed a difference in performance? I’d love to hear your insights!

Moving on, I’ve also been working on integrating some ESP Easy sensors into Home Assistant using MQTT. It’s been a bit challenging, especially since I don’t want to reflash all my ESP devices to ESPHome. I’ve managed to get a gas counter sensor working, but I’m struggling with how to sum up the pulses and create a utility meter for energy tracking. Does anyone have experience with this or know of a good tutorial? Additionally, I’d appreciate any advice on integrating multiple utility meters (like electricity, gas, and water) into a single overview. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Another area I’m exploring is the integration of Somfy blinds with Pi-somfy into OpenHAB. I’ve successfully controlled them using Pi-somfy, but now I want to make this integration seamless. I’m considering using either the Exec binding or MQTT. While I’ve found some examples for Home Assistant, OpenHAB documentation is scarce. If anyone has successfully integrated Somfy blinds into OpenHAB, I’d love to hear about your approach or any challenges you faced!

Lastly, I’ve been looking into security cameras and came across the Wyze Cam Floodlight. It seems like a great option with features like 270° customizable motion detection and bright LED lights. However, I’m curious about others’ experiences with two-factor authentication on Wyze V3 cameras. How does it work in practice? Has anyone tried it and found it reliable?

I’m excited to hear your thoughts and experiences on these topics. Let’s collaborate and share knowledge to enhance our smart home setups!
