Hi everyone, I’m diving into the world of MQTT and OpenHab integration, and I wanted to share my journey and some insights I’ve gathered along the way. I currently have three OpenHab 2 installations running, and they all communicate via MQTT. However, keeping their configurations in sync has been a bit of a challenge. I’m really looking to move away from MQTT 1 and explore other options, which is why I came across Karaf Cellar.
I’ve started experimenting with Karaf Cellar, and it seems promising for addressing both the configuration sync and dependency issues I’ve been facing. I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with this setup or has any tips to share. It would also be great to know if OpenHab 3 has any plans to support clusters of collaborating instances, as that would be a game-changer for my setup.
In the meantime, I’m documenting my findings and will keep this thread updated. My initial experiments focus on understanding how much Cellar can offer without modifying the OpenHab codebase. It’s been a steep learning curve, but I’m excited to see where this goes!
If anyone has tips or experiences to share, I’d be really grateful. Happy tinkering everyone!
