Exploring MQTT Connection Issues with Shelly Plug S

Hi everyone, I’m diving into a common issue many of us might face when integrating smart devices into our IoT setups—specifically, the Shelly Plug S and its MQTT connection quirks. I recently encountered a problem where toggling the plug via MQTT commands would cause a temporary disconnection from the broker. While the plug would reconnect, it was frustratingly inconsistent, especially for everyday use.

After some research, I discovered that the issue might stem from the MQTT broker configuration or the strength of the password used. I decided to tweak my Mosquitto Broker settings and ensure that my password met the recommended complexity standards. To my delight, this adjustment seemed to stabilize the connection, though I’m still monitoring it closely.

I’d love to hear from others who’ve tackled similar challenges. Have you found any specific configurations or workarounds that improved your MQTT experience with Shelly devices? Let’s share our findings and help each other troubleshoot these hiccups in our smart home setups!
