Hello everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of MQTT and smart home automation, and I’m excited to share my experiences and findings with you. Recently, I’ve been working on setting up MQTT for my fans, specifically looking into how to control their speeds and integrate them seamlessly into my home automation setup.
I stumbled upon the MQTT Fan Control documentation and noticed there are three distinct topics for managing fan speeds. However, I’ve been struggling to find a corresponding UI for these controls. I came across an independent attempt to create a Fan Control UI, but it doesn’t seem to be integrated into the main platform, and the user hasn’t shared the code or instructions for integration.
I’ve tried a few workarounds, like creating custom dashboards and using third-party apps, but nothing has quite hit the mark yet. I’m curious if anyone else has tackled this issue or found a solution that works well. Maybe there’s a way to tweak the existing UI components or even develop a custom integration?
On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with setting up an alarm system using Wyze cameras and a power failure alarm. It’s been a fun project, and I’d love to hear if anyone has similar setups or tips for improving security in a smart home.
If you’ve got any insights, tricks, or stories about MQTT fan control or integrating custom UIs, I’d love to hear them! Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other out in this amazing smart home community. ![]()
