Exploring Multi-Room Music and Smart Device Integration

Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of multi-room music and smart device integration, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and thoughts with you all. :headphones::sparkles:

First off, I’ve been absolutely loving my setup with three Amazon Echo 4th gen speakers. They’ve been a game-changer for syncing music across different rooms, whether I want to play the same song everywhere or control each speaker individually. The ability to group them together is super convenient, and the sound quality has been impressive. :notes:

However, I’ve hit a snag with my living room setup. I’ve been using the aux port to connect my dumb home stereo, but this means I lose the built-in speakers on the Echo. It’s a bit of a waste, and I’m curious if there’s a smarter way to integrate my stereo without sacrificing the Echo’s built-in speakers. Maybe a device that acts like an Echo but without the speakers? Something that can handle the multi-room feature seamlessly. Any thoughts or recommendations would be amazing! :bulb:

On another note, I’ve been exploring the integration of Shelly devices into my smart home ecosystem. I’m using MQTT with Home Assistant, and while most devices have been a breeze to set up, I’ve encountered some issues with the Shelly Plus Plug S. It shows up in MQTT Explorer but not in the Home Assistant MQTT device list. I’m wondering if there’s a specific configuration or setting I might be missing. Has anyone else faced this issue or found a workaround?

Lastly, I wanted to highlight how much I appreciate the smart home community. Whether it’s troubleshooting tips, product recommendations, or just sharing experiences, forums like this are invaluable. If you’ve got any questions or need help with your setups, don’t hesitate to reach out! We’re all here to learn and grow together. :speech_balloon::sparkles:

Looking forward to hearing from you all! Let’s keep the smart home revolution going! :rocket:
