Exploring Nanoleaf Essentials Scene Support in Home Assistant

Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of Nanoleaf Essentials and their integration with Home Assistant. I must say, the smooth transitions and vibrant effects are truly impressive! However, I’ve encountered a bit of a challenge when it comes to creating and managing scenes through the Nanoleaf iOS app while using the HomeKit Device integration in Home Assistant.

The basics are solid—Nanoleaf Essentials can transition just as smoothly as their Shape counterparts, and the Nanoleaf app is fantastic for creating dynamic scenes. But here’s where I hit a snag: once the Essentials are paired with Home Assistant via HomeKit, I can no longer transfer scenes from the app to them. It’s a bit frustrating because the app’s AI-driven scene generation is so user-friendly.

I’ve tried a few workarounds, like manually adjusting settings through Home Assistant, but it’s not as seamless as using the Nanoleaf app. I wonder if there’s a way to leverage the Nanoleaf Desktop App within Home Assistant to achieve the same level of scene customization without leaving the platform.

Another hurdle is the lack of native transition support for color changes in Home Assistant. I’ve come across a custom script that handles brightness transitions, but color support is still missing. It would be amazing to have a built-in solution for smooth color transitions, making the integration even more polished.

I’m curious if anyone else has found a way to bridge this gap or if there are any innovative solutions out there. Let’s keep the conversation going and see if we can find a way to make Nanoleaf Essentials scenes as dynamic and easy to manage as they are in the Nanoleaf app! :star2:
