Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of home automation lately and wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with the community. I’m particularly interested in optimizing my Netatmo thermostats for year-round automation, but I’m hitting a bit of a snag with retrieving the schedule IDs. Has anyone successfully managed to pull these IDs and integrate them into their automation routines? I’d love to hear about your approaches and any tips you might have!
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with Openhab to track my energy consumption more effectively. I set up a rule to calculate daily, monthly, and yearly energy usage, but I’m encountering some odd results. For instance, the numbers are skyrocketing to unrealistic values, which doesn’t make much sense given my actual usage patterns. I’ve included the rule I’m using below, and I’m hoping someone might spot where I’m going wrong or suggest a more reliable method for tracking energy metrics.
plaintextrule "Energy Consumption Calculation"when Item EnergyMeter received updatethen var Number dailyUsage = … // Calculation logic here var Number monthlyUsage = … // Calculation logic here var Number yearlyUsage = … // Calculation logic here postUpdate(DailyEnergy, dailyUsage) postUpdate(MonthlyEnergy, monthlyUsage) postUpdate(YearlyEnergy, yearlyUsage)end
I’m also curious if others have found creative ways to visualize their energy data or integrate it into their smart home dashboards. Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Lastly, I’d love to hear about any successful automation setups you’ve implemented, especially those involving thermostats or energy monitoring. The more we share, the more we can all learn and improve our smart home setups!
Looking forward to your thoughts and experiences!
