I’ve been diving deep into my smart home setup lately and wanted to share some of my experiences, both the highs and the lows.
First off, I’ve been really impressed with my Hikvision cameras paired with Blue Iris and Intellihome. Setting up four of them was a breeze, and seeing them all display in Intellihome was a great moment. However, I’m struggling with integrating them into Vera using the Blue Iris plugin. I’ve read through the documentation, but it’s still a bit confusing. If anyone has a good guide or tips, I’d really appreciate it!
On another note, I’ve been trying to use the OpenWeatherMap API for some weather-based automations. Unfortunately, I’ve been hitting a wall with a 400 Bad Request error. I’ve checked my API key and location settings multiple times, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone else encountered this issue or have any troubleshooting tips?
Lastly, I came across some exciting new devices at the IFA 2024 event, particularly the new Shelly products. They look like they could really enhance my setup, but I’m curious to hear what others think about them.
It’s amazing how much potential there is with these devices, even though the learning curve can be steep. I’m really grateful to be part of such a supportive community where I can learn and grow.
