Exploring New Integrations and Enhancing Security in Home Assistant

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. I’ve been diving into some new features and integrations in Home Assistant, and I wanted to share my experiences and ask a few questions along the way.

First, I’ve been exploring the Aqara FP1E Presence Sensor. It’s supposed to be an upgrade in terms of specs and price, but I’m curious about the actual performance improvements. Has anyone had a chance to test this out? I’d love to hear about your experiences!

On the security front, I’ve been thinking a lot about the Shelly devices and their cloud integration. I’m a bit concerned about the lack of multi-factor authentication. It seems like we’re relying solely on passwords, which feels a bit risky. Has anyone found a workaround or alternative solution to enhance security? I’d really appreciate any insights!

Another thing I’ve been working on is calibrating dimmers in ESPHome, specifically the Shelly Dimmer 2. I came across some discussions about how calibration is handled in Tasmota, but I’m not entirely sure how to apply those settings in ESPHome. If anyone has experience with this, I’d be grateful for some guidance!

Finally, I’ve been experimenting with ESPHome and Homematic, trying to get everything configured just right. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m making progress. I’d love to hear about any tips or tricks others have for optimizing these setups.

Feel free to drop your thoughts, questions, or experiences below! Let’s keep the discussion going and help each other out. Happy automating! :rocket:
