Exploring NFC Presence Detection and Spotify Integration in Home Assistant

Hey everyone,

I’ve been diving into some exciting home automation projects lately and wanted to share my experiences and ask for your insights!

First off, I came across an interesting idea to use NFC/RFID sensors for presence detection. I’m currently using the HASS Custom Alarm Interface and love it, but I’m running into some delays with my presence detection setup. I’d love to explore using NFC sensors to automatically disarm the alarm when I approach the door. Has anyone tried this? I’d love to hear about your setups and any tips you might have!

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with integrating Spotify into my Home Assistant setup. It’s been a blast! I followed the guide to set up the Spotify integration, Spotcast, and the Spotify-card. I created dropdown lists for speakers and playlists, and it’s working beautifully. The media browser feature is a game-changer for easily selecting music. If anyone has tips on optimizing this setup or adding more features, I’d love to hear them!

Lastly, I’m on the hunt for a reliable no-neutral dimmer. I’d prefer something that works with Zigbee or Wi-Fi, as I’m trying to keep my setup as seamless as possible. If anyone has recommendations or has successfully integrated a no-neutral dimmer, please share your experiences!

It’s amazing how much you can enhance your smart home with a little creativity and some awesome integrations. I’d love to hear your thoughts and any cool projects you’re working on!

Cheers,
