Exploring NFC Tags and Z-Wave Integration in Smart Homes

Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of NFC tags and Z-Wave integration lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with you all. First off, I’ve been using NFC tags on my washer and dryer to trigger notifications after a set time. It’s been working great, except for one small issue: the notification goes to both my phone and my roommate’s phone. I’d love to figure out a way to make it only send to the person who scanned the tag. I’ve tried adding user IDs and device IDs in the trigger, but it didn’t work. Has anyone else encountered this and found a solution? I’m really curious about how to set this up properly.

On another note, I’ve been exploring Z-Wave integration with my smart home setup. I’ve come across some really interesting devices, but I’m also running into a few hiccups. For instance, I’ve been trying to configure a Z-Wave device using the Z-Wave JS to MQTT add-on, but I’m stuck on the configuration part. The addon doesn’t expose any settings, and I’m not sure how to proceed. I’ve followed the official guide, but I’m still hitting walls. If anyone has successfully switched from the official Z-Wave JS add-on to zwavejs2mqtt, I’d love to hear about your process!

Lastly, I wanted to mention something about Wyze cameras. I’ve heard that the Wyze Cam Outdoor doesn’t support Wyze Plus, which means it has a 5-minute cooldown and only records for 12 seconds at a time. I’m really hoping that changes in the future, because the indoor version with Wyze Plus is fantastic. I’d love to have the same features on my outdoor camera for better security coverage.

If anyone has tips or tricks for these issues, or just wants to share their experiences, I’d be thrilled to hear from you. Let’s keep learning and improving our smart home setups together!
