Exploring Node-RED State Persistence and LED Automation

I’ve been diving deep into Node-RED for my Home Assistant automations, and it’s been a game-changer! However, I’ve encountered some unexpected behavior when restarting or redeploying flows. Most node states reset, which can disrupt my routines. After some research, I stumbled upon the node-red-contrib-stoptimer-varidelay node, which offers a fantastic ‘Resume timer on deploy/restart’ feature. It’s been a lifesaver for my delay and timer nodes!

This discovery has me wondering—are there other nodes with similar persistence features? I’d love to find alternatives for ‘limit’ nodes or ‘gateway’ functionalities. If anyone has recommendations, please share!

On another note, I recently received my new LED strips, and I’m thrilled with how they’ve transformed my space! The vibrant colors and smooth dimming make every room feel welcoming. I’m now exploring how to integrate them seamlessly with my existing Node-RED flows for even more dynamic lighting effects.

Lastly, I’m brainstorming a new automation idea. I want to run my Roomba vacuum on Wednesdays at 2 AM, but only if our cleaner hasn’t been in on the previous Tuesday. Ideally, this would be based on a Google Calendar entry. If anyone has tips or similar setups, I’d love to hear about your experiences!

Looking forward to your insights and sharing more as I continue my Node-RED journey!
