Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with OpenHAB 3’s new Masonry design feature. After installing the stable version a few days ago, I’ve been experimenting with different ways to organize my dashboard. I’ve always struggled with creating a layout that works seamlessly across both my smartphone and desktop, but the Masonry design seems to solve that issue beautifully!
The responsive nature of Masonry is impressive. It automatically adjusts card sizes based on the screen, which is perfect for my use case. However, I noticed that on larger screens like my PC monitor, some cards appear too small, causing text to become unreadable. I’m curious if there’s a way to set a minimum width for all cards or specific cards within a page. I’ve tried searching the documentation, but haven’t found a clear solution yet. Any tips or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!
Here’s a quick tip for anyone exploring Masonry: I’ve found that grouping related devices together (e.g., all kitchen appliances on one page) makes navigation much easier. It also helps to use consistent card templates for a cohesive look. I’d love to hear how others are organizing their dashboards with this feature!
Thanks to the OpenHAB team for this fantastic update and the community for all the helpful resources. Keep up the great work! ![]()
