I’ve been exploring the capabilities of openHAB for quite some time now, and it truly impresses me with its continuous advancements. As someone who values a seamless integration of home automation and telecommunications, I’m excited to share my current project and seek advice from the community.
I’ve been running Asterisk & FreePBX on a Raspberry Pi Zero, and now I’m considering migrating this setup to a Raspberry Pi 3B. My goal is to consolidate both openHAB and my existing telephony system on the same device. From what I’ve researched, starting with the openHABian image seems like a solid foundation. I plan to import my Asterisk & FreePBX configurations, alongside setting up Mosquitto MQTT Broker and possibly NodeRED for enhanced workflow management.
However, I’d love to hear from anyone who has successfully integrated these components on a single Raspberry Pi. Are there any potential pitfalls or best practices I should be aware of? Specifically, I’m curious about port conflicts—FreePBX uses numerous ports for its web interface, and NodeRED also requires browser access. Ensuring smooth operation without interference is crucial.
If anyone has insights or tips, especially regarding optimizing resource usage or avoiding common issues, I’d greatly appreciate your guidance. This project feels like a significant step forward in my home automation journey, and I’m eager to make it a success!
Looking forward to your thoughts and experiences!
