I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation with OpenHAB and it’s been an exciting journey so far. After migrating from Indigo, I’ve set up around 60 Things and over 100 Items, mostly using Z-Wave devices, along with Hue, Sonos, and Harmony plugins. It’s been a smooth experience overall, but I’ve hit a snag with PaperUI responsiveness. The HTTP requests seem to get stuck, which is frustrating as I rely on it for configuring my devices. I’ve tried stopping some bundles in Karaf, and while it temporarily fixes the issue, it’s not a permanent solution. I’m hoping someone on the forum has encountered this and can offer some insights or troubleshooting steps.
On another note, I recently purchased some Zigbee Mini Relays to extend the range of my network. Pairing them with the ZBBridge was straightforward, but I’m struggling to get them to act as routers for devices further away. I paired one successfully, but the second one, placed further from the bridge, isn’t being detected. It’s a bit puzzling, as I expected them to extend the network seamlessly. If anyone has experience with setting up Zigbee routers, I’d love to hear your tips or any common pitfalls to avoid.
Overall, I’m really enjoying the flexibility and customization OpenHAB offers, but these hiccups are reminders of how much there is still to learn. I’m excited to continue exploring and improving my setup!
