Exploring Powerline Networking and Smart Home Integration

I’ve been diving into the world of powerline networking with my mix of TP-Link and Tenda devices, all running on the HomePlugAV protocol. It’s fascinating how these devices can turn regular power lines into a reliable network, but I’ve been curious about monitoring their health from my OpenHab setup. After some research, I found some open-source utilities that provide detailed network stats, which I’d love to integrate into my system. The idea is to have a general status indicator for the network and individual metrics for each adapter, showing TX and RX rates. I’m not a seasoned developer, but with my background in C and some dabbling in Java-like languages, I’m eager to give it a try. If anyone has experience with writing OpenHab bindings or knows of any resources to get started, I’d be grateful for the guidance! It’s all about enhancing my smart home ecosystem and learning along the way. :grinning:
