Exploring Reolink Doorbell Battery Integration and New Features

Hi everyone, I’m really excited to share some of my recent experiences with integrating the Reolink doorbell battery into my Home Assistant setup. I’ve been using the Aqara G4 HomeKit bell for a while now, but I’ve always been impressed by Reolink’s cameras, so I thought it would be a great addition to my smart home ecosystem. However, I’ve got a few questions and observations I’d like to share with the community.First off, I’m curious about the integration process. Does it require additional hardware like the Home Hub, or can it be set up seamlessly without it? I’d love to avoid any extra costs if possible. Another thing I’m wondering about is the scalability. I have three floors in my house, and I’d like to have chimes on each level. How many chimes can I connect to a single doorbell? Three would be perfect for my setup.I’m also exploring the automation possibilities. For instance, can I set up the doorbell to play a sound through my HomePod when someone rings? That would be a fantastic feature for my smart home. Lastly, I’m interested in hearing about others’ experiences with battery life. How long does a single charge typically last, and are there any tips for maximizing it?On a different note, I’ve been really impressed with the new heading card feature in Home Assistant. It adds a whole new level of customization to my dashboards, making them more visually appealing and organized. However, I’ve noticed that it’s not showing up for me despite having the latest updates. I’m wondering if there’s something I might be missing in the configuration or if others have encountered similar issues.Another topic I’d like to touch on is my recent experience with the Remotec ZRC-90US remote control. I’ve managed to add it to my system, but I’m finding it challenging to get the buttons to work as expected. I’d appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips from those who have successfully integrated this device.Overall, I’m really enjoying the journey of enhancing my smart home setup. Each new device or feature adds a layer of convenience and personalization that makes living in a connected home truly special. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences on these topics!
