Hello everyone! I’m diving into the world of smart lighting and Z-Wave, and I’m a bit overwhelmed by the choices out there. I currently use a Vera Edge system and am looking to upgrade some of my home lights with RGB or RGBW capabilities. I want to automate these lights but am unsure about the best approach.I’ve looked into Hue, but it seems like it would require another whole-house controller, which I’m not eager to add. It feels like it might complicate things and add unnecessary costs since I already have Vera Edge. Then there’s Milight, which is cheaper but operates on 2.4GHz, which isn’t ideal since I prefer Zigbee for better reliability and range. The Fibaro RGBW controller caught my eye as a potential solution. It allows me to create my own LED light strip setup, which sounds great, but I’m worried about hidden issues or compatibility problems with Vera Edge. I haven’t found much information on how well it integrates, so I’m hesitant to commit.I’m also surprised that there aren’t more RGBW Z-Wave bulbs available that can screw into existing fixtures. Replacing fixtures isn’t my first choice, but I’m open to it if necessary. I’m just trying to weigh the pros and cons and see if anyone has recommendations or experiences they can share. If anyone has successfully integrated RGB lighting with Z-Wave or has insights on the Fibaro solution, I’d love to hear about it! Thanks in advance for your help!
