Hey everyone, I’ve been experimenting with RGBW light color cycling and wanted to share my experiences and insights. I have two sets of RGB lights—one for motion-activated rainbow cycling and another for seasonal color schemes like orange and purple for Halloween or red and green for Christmas.
Initially, I tried using a repeating rule with random colors, setting a 5-second transition time. While this worked to some extent, it didn’t quite achieve the smooth, predefined rainbow cycle I was aiming for. After some research and tinkering, I discovered that using a sequence of predefined colors with gradual transitions provided a much more consistent and visually appealing result.
For the seasonal colors, I created a custom automation that switches between specific hues based on the time of year. This approach allows for easy updates and ensures the lights match the festive spirit without any randomness.
I’d love to hear how others are achieving their desired color cycling effects. Are there any tips or tricks you’ve found particularly effective? Let’s share and learn together!
