I recently purchased two new Wyze Cam V2 units and attempted to update them with the RTSP firmware version 4.28.4.41. While the update process went smoothly using an SD card, I encountered an unexpected issue post-update. The cameras entered a boot loop, with the yellow light constantly on and a faint clicking sound every two seconds. This rendered them unusable through the Wyze app. After some troubleshooting, I reverted to the standard firmware (4.9.6.193), and the issue was resolved.
This experience has made me wonder if there have been any hardware changes in newer Wyze Cam V2 models that might affect RTSP compatibility. I’ve heard that some users have successfully used RTSP with their V2 cams without issues, so I’m curious if this is a widespread problem or something specific to my units.
