Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home integration and thought I’d share my experiences with integrating my Samsung TV (QN95A) with ioBroker. While I’ve managed to get it connected, there’s been a bit of a learning curve along the way.
I came across two adapters for this integration: the Tizen adapter, which is still in beta, and the SmartThings adapter. Initially, I was hopeful that the Tizen adapter would offer a seamless experience, but unfortunately, it hasn’t been without its hiccups. The status updates I receive are often outdated, which is a bit frustrating. For instance, the channel it shows is sometimes from weeks ago, even though the TV is actively in use.
I decided to give the SmartThings adapter a try, thinking it might offer a more reliable connection. While it did detect my TV without any issues, the same problem with outdated status information persisted. This has made managing the TV’s state a bit of a guessing game, especially when trying to automate certain functions.
I’ve started experimenting with different configurations and scripts to see if I can manually refresh the status more frequently or bypass the adapter altogether for certain commands. It’s been a bit of a trial and error process, but I’m hopeful that with some tweaking, I can get everything working smoothly.
For anyone else looking to integrate their Samsung TV with ioBroker, I’d love to hear about your experiences or any tips you might have. Whether it’s about adapters, scripts, or just general advice, I’m all ears!
Cheers,
