Exploring Schlage Be469 Features and Smart Home Integration

Hi everyone, I’m really excited to share my experience with the Schlage Be469 locks and how I’ve been integrating them into my smart home setup. First, I want to address a question I had before pairing both of my Schlage Be469 locks. I currently have the auto-lock feature enabled on both locks, which is super convenient, but I was wondering if there’s an option to disable this feature through the Home app, especially when I have contractors coming in and out all day. Disabling the auto-lock feature would prevent the lock from potentially banging into the door jamb if the door is left open. I’d love to hear if anyone else has encountered this or found a workaround!

Another thing I’ve been exploring is integrating my Schlage locks with other smart home devices. I’ve heard that some users have successfully connected their Schlage locks with Amazon Alexa, but I’m curious if there are any limitations or best practices for doing so. For instance, can the lock sense whether the door is open or closed via a door sensor and prevent auto-locking if the door is open? This would be a great feature to ensure smooth operation without any unexpected noises.

On a different note, I’ve also been experimenting with setting up an Amazon Echo Dot 5. While the setup process seemed straightforward, I ran into some issues where the device wouldn’t connect to my Wi-Fi. I tried resetting it multiple times and ensuring my Wi-Fi was stable, but it still didn’t work. If anyone has encountered similar issues or has tips for troubleshooting, I’d be really grateful!

Lastly, I stumbled upon a deal for a Z-Wave smoke and carbon monoxide detector on Amazon, and I’m seriously considering picking one up. It’s always great to have reliable safety devices integrated into your smart home system. I’m curious if anyone here has experience with this specific model and if it’s worth the investment.

Overall, I’m really enjoying exploring the capabilities of my Schlage locks and other smart home devices. It’s amazing how technology can enhance our daily lives, but there’s definitely a learning curve! If anyone has any insights or recommendations, I’d love to hear them. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
