Hey everyone!
I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I must say, it’s been an incredible journey. One thing that’s really piqued my interest is how to seamlessly integrate devices from different brands into a cohesive system. I’ve got a mix of Philips Hue lights, a Shelly Plug, and even some Govee LED strips, and I’m curious to know how others manage to get everything working together like a well-oiled machine. ![]()

For instance, I recently set up my Philips Hue bulbs to automatically dim when I turn off my Shelly Plug-connected TV. It’s such a small thing, but it makes a world of difference in terms of convenience. I’m now thinking about expanding this to include my Govee strips for some ambient lighting effects when I’m winding down for the night. ![]()

But here’s where I hit a snag—I’m not entirely sure how to create a routine that involves multiple devices from different brands without everything feeling a bit disjointed. Does anyone have tips on how to ensure smooth communication between these devices? Maybe some best practices for setting up automations that span across ecosystems? ![]()

I’d also love to hear about any creative ways others have integrated their multi-brand setups. Have you managed to create a scenario where, say, your lights adjust based on your TV’s power status, or perhaps your Govee strips change color in sync with your Hue bulbs? ![]()

Let me know your thoughts and experiences! I’m excited to learn from the community and maybe even pick up a few tricks to enhance my setup. ![]()
