I’m thrilled to dive into the world of smart home automation, and I’ve recently discovered Shelly devices, which seem incredibly versatile and user-friendly. I’ve been experimenting with integrating them into my existing setup, and I’m eager to share my experiences and seek advice from the community.
I recently acquired a Shelly 1 to control a light switch, and it’s been a breeze to set up. The app is intuitive, and the device responds instantly. However, I’m now curious about expanding my setup without relying on the internet. Does anyone have experience using Shelly devices in a purely local network? I’m particularly interested in how to automate tasks between different devices offline.
Another thing I’m exploring is connecting Shelly devices with my KNX system. I have a KNX bus installed, and I’d love to bridge the two systems to control my roller shutters seamlessly. I’ve looked into some configurations, but I’m not entirely sure about the best approach. If anyone has successfully integrated Shelly with KNX, I’d be grateful for any tips or guidance!
Additionally, I’m considering upgrading my Yale lock with a Z-Wave module. I’ve heard great things about Z-Wave compatibility, but I’m a bit overwhelmed by the configuration options. I’d appreciate any recommendations or resources that could help me get started smoothly.
I’m also curious about others’ experiences with energy-efficient smart home solutions, especially those that work well in harsh weather conditions. I’m in Canada, so durability and reliability are key factors for me.
