Hello everyone, I’m thrilled to share my journey into the world of smart home automation! As a newcomer, I’ve been gradually expanding my setup with a mix of HomeKit-compatible devices like the Eve Outdoor Cam and Velux Rollos. I’ve also had some great experiences with Shelly devices, integrating them either through the Shelly app or directly into Apple’s HomeKit. However, I’ve hit a bit of a snag with the Shelly Dimmer 2, and I’m hoping the community can shed some light on the situation.
I’ve heard that the Shelly Dimmer 2 is a fantastic device for controlling lights and appliances, but I’m struggling to find firmware that would allow it to work seamlessly with HomeKit without the need for a bridge. Is it possible that the Dimmer 2 isn’t yet compatible with HomeKit out of the box? Any confirmation or guidance on this would be greatly appreciated!
Looking ahead, I’m planning to set up a Home Assistant server, which I’ve heard amazing things about. I already have the hardware ready, just need to carve out some time to dive in. Before I commit to the Shelly Dimmer 2, I’d love to know if it will integrate smoothly with Home Assistant and then into Apple’s HomeKit. My goal is to have Home Assistant as the central hub, while still offering my family the simplicity of HomeKit control.
I’d be so grateful for any insights or experiences others have had with similar setups. It’s been an exciting journey so far, and I’m eager to keep expanding my smart home ecosystem while ensuring everything works harmoniously together. Thanks in advance for your help!
