Exploring Shelly Integration for My Chicken Coop

Hello everyone, I’ve recently become interested in integrating Shelly devices into my chicken coop setup. While I’m new to this, I’m excited to share my journey and seek advice from the community.

Currently, my coop is managed using an Eaton Easy E4 controller. It handles lighting, temperature monitoring, and even has a light sensor for closing the door at dusk. I also have a humidity sensor and a camera for monitoring the chickens. However, I’d love to streamline everything using Shelly devices.

My first goal is to integrate the coop door control. I currently use relays to operate the door, and I’m wondering if a Shelly Plus 2PM could handle this alongside monitoring the door’s position using sensors. I’ve heard great things about Shelly’s reliability, but I’m not entirely sure how to set this up.

I’d also love to incorporate the light sensor and humidity sensor into the system. My main concern is ensuring everything operates smoothly on a 24V system. I’m hoping the Shelly I3 can help monitor the door’s position and trigger actions accordingly.

If anyone has experience with similar setups or tips for integrating multiple sensors and actuators, I’d greatly appreciate your insights! I’m eager to learn and improve my setup.

Thank you for your time and help. Looking forward to hearing from you all!
