Hi everyone, I’m currently working on a project to replace our old lighting control system with Shelly devices. The existing system uses Siemens S5 SPS, which is outdated, and we want to modernize it with Shelly Pro units. However, I’ve run into a configuration question that I’m hoping the community can help with.
Our IT team is asking if we can connect one Shelly device via LAN and then use it as a master to connect up to eight additional devices via AP. This would simplify our setup, especially since the Shellys are installed in metal switchboards, making WLAN connectivity challenging. I’ve searched the forums but haven’t found a definitive answer yet. Has anyone successfully implemented a similar setup? Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!
Additionally, I’ve been exploring Z-Wave integration in OpenHAB. I came across a topic where someone was having trouble editing Z-Wave sensor properties, specifically the reporting period. I’m curious if this is a common issue or if there are workarounds. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s managed to configure Z-Wave sensors more effectively.
Finally, I’d like to share a positive experience with Govee products. Despite some calibration challenges, their customer support has been responsive, and the quality of their devices is impressive. If anyone has tips for troubleshooting Govee calibration issues, I’d be happy to hear them!
Thanks in advance for your help and insights. It’s amazing how the community comes together to solve these tech challenges!
