Exploring Smart Camera Battery Solutions and Automation Tips

Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart cameras and automation lately, and I wanted to share some of my findings and experiences with you all. :camera::bulb:

First off, I’ve been looking into backup power solutions for my Wyze cameras. I stumbled upon this little UPS device on Amazon, and while it’s not perfect, I’m excited to try it out. The idea of having a reliable backup battery for my cameras is huge, especially during power outages. I’ll keep you posted on how it performs! :rocket:

On the automation front, I’ve been experimenting with setting up scene-based lighting using my Osram RGB bulbs. It’s amazing how much these bulbs can transform the mood of a room. However, I’ve run into a bit of a snag with color consistency. The default app’s color picker doesn’t always match what I see in real life, which is a bit frustrating. I’ve heard that using third-party apps like Hue can help, but I’m trying to stick with the stock setup as much as possible. Any tips from the community would be greatly appreciated! :rainbow::sparkles:

Another project I’ve been working on is setting up a reverse proxy for my OpenHAB setup. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m slowly getting the hang of it. I’ve managed to set up basic authentication, but I’m still figuring out how to redirect users properly if they bypass the authentication page. If anyone has experience with Nginx configurations, I’d love to hear your insights! :hammer_and_wrench::lock:

Lastly, I wanted to share a quick tip for anyone dealing with geofencing issues. I’ve found that using a combination of location-based apps and smart rules can really improve reliability. It’s been a game-changer for automating my home security system. Give it a shot if you haven’t already! :earth_africa::house:

That’s all for now. I hope this post sparks some interesting discussions and helps someone out there. Let’s keep the smart home revolution rolling! :rocket::sparkles:
