Exploring Smart Camera Controls and Zigbee Setup

I’ve been diving into the world of smart cameras and Zigbee setups lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and insights with the community. One thing that’s been on my mind is how to effectively manage camera controls using IFTTT. While I’ve found some great automations, I’m still puzzled about why there isn’t a straightforward option to turn cameras on and off directly through IFTTT. Has anyone else encountered this or found a workaround? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

On another note, I recently set up a GoControl USB stick for my Zigbee network. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m excited about the possibilities it opens up. I’ve been using OpenHAB and was initially frustrated when the serial port for the USB stick didn’t appear in the dropdown. After some research and tweaking, I managed to get it working by setting up a symlink and adjusting the Java options. It’s been a rewarding experience, though definitely a test of patience!

I’d also love to hear from others who’ve successfully integrated multiple smart devices or solved tricky setup issues. What tips or tricks have you discovered along the way? Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other navigate the exciting world of smart home technology!
