Exploring Smart Camera Night Vision and Automation Tips

Hello everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home technology lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with you all.

First off, I recently purchased a Wyze Pan Cam V3, and while I’m impressed with its features, I’ve noticed that the night vision isn’t as strong as I expected. Compared to my older Wyze V2 camera, which had 4 IR lights, the Pan Cam has 6, but they seem much dimmer. Has anyone else encountered this issue, or perhaps found a workaround? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with setting up automations in Home Assistant. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m starting to get the hang of it. One thing I’m particularly interested in is using variables in text fields within Meshbots. For example, I’d love to have my hub report its IP address via an HTTP POST request dynamically. Is this possible, or would I need to dive into LUA scripting for something like that? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Lastly, I’ve been exploring ways to enhance my home’s lighting setup. I came across some creative ideas for attaching light strips behind TVs without using adhesive, which I think is brilliant for future TV upgrades. If anyone has any innovative solutions or tips, I’d love to hear them!

I’m really enjoying the journey of building my smart home, and I’m excited to see how much more I can achieve with the help of this amazing community. Let’s keep the discussions flowing and continue to learn from each other!

Cheers,
