Exploring Smart Camera Night Vision Customization

I’ve been really enjoying my Wyze camera v3, but I’ve run into an interesting issue with the night vision settings. I’ve got it configured to use my independent IR lights, which works great for keeping the night vision active without the built-in IR lights. However, there’s this quirk where if the camera detects any external light, it switches back to color vision. This leads to a bit of a nuisance—getting two notifications instead of one. The first one catches the motion, and the second one is the camera switching back to night vision. It’s a minor inconvenience, but I’d love to find a way to prevent that second notification.

I’ve tried adjusting the sensitivity settings, but that doesn’t seem to help. Maybe there’s a way to disable the automatic switch to color vision when external light is detected? I’ve looked through the app settings, but I don’t see an option for that. If anyone has any tips or workarounds, I’d be really grateful!

On a more positive note, I’ve been impressed with how customizable the Wyze app is. I’ve used FilterBox Pro to set up different notification sounds for different cameras, which makes it much easier to identify which camera is triggering an alert. It’s a small tweak, but it makes a big difference in managing multiple devices.

Overall, I’m really happy with my Wyze camera setup, and I’m excited to see how the software continues to evolve. If anyone else has tips for optimizing night vision or reducing false alerts, please share them! Let’s keep the discussion going and help each other get the most out of our smart home devices.
