Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home technology lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with you all.
First off, I’ve been experimenting with smart cameras and the notifications they provide. I set up a camera in my home, but I’m noticing that I’m not receiving alerts when motion or sound is detected on my phone. I’ve gone through the settings multiple times, but I must be missing something. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any tips on how to ensure those notifications come through would be greatly appreciated!
On another note, I’ve been trying to integrate my iCloud devices into my smart home setup. I used to have everything configured in my configuration.yaml file, and it worked like a charm. However, after an upgrade to .104.3, things started acting up. I’ve tried removing and re-adding the devices, clearing caches, and even rebooting my system, but I’m still not seeing the devices in known_devices.yaml. Specifically, I want to configure the hide_if_away attribute for one of my devices, but it doesn’t seem to be working. Does anyone know how to add this attribute when configuring via the integrations section in the UI? I’d love to get this sorted out so my devices don’t show up on the map when they’re away from home.
I’ve also been exploring the automation features of my smart home system. It’s amazing how much you can automate with the right setup. For instance, I’ve set up a simple automation that turns off the air conditioning if a door is left open for too long. It’s a small thing, but it gives me peace of mind knowing my energy usage is being monitored. I’d love to hear about any clever automations you’ve set up in your homes!
Lastly, I’ve been keeping an eye on the latest updates and integrations in the smart home community. It’s fascinating to see how everything is evolving and becoming more interconnected. I’m curious to know if anyone else has had success integrating multiple brands of devices seamlessly. Any success stories or tips would be wonderful to hear about!
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!
