Exploring Smart Fan Control and Security Insights

Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home devices lately, and I thought I’d share my experiences and some questions I’ve come across. First off, I recently set up a GE/Enbrighten SMART FAN CONTROL using my Hubitat Hub. The setup was pretty straightforward, and I managed to integrate it with Alexa. However, there’s been a bit of a hiccup with the voice commands. When I tell Alexa to change the fan speed or turn it on/off, the fan responds correctly, but Alexa often follows up with an error message like, ‘Sorry, the Porch Fan isn’t responding.’ It’s a bit frustrating, but I’m hopeful the community can shed some light on how to resolve this. I’ve included some device info screenshots if that helps anyone troubleshoot.

On a different note, I’ve also been exploring security features with my v2 hub. I noticed a warning in the app stating, ‘hub does not support the highest level of security.’ I’m a bit concerned about the implications of this and would love to know how to test or enhance the security of my setup. Is there a way to ensure my hub is as secure as possible without upgrading?

Lastly, I’ve been curious about tracking energy sources for my appliances, especially with the new EV charger I installed. I’d love to know how much power is being drawn from the grid versus my solar panels or battery storage. If anyone has experience with this or can point me in the right direction, I’d be really grateful.

It’s amazing how much potential there is with these smart devices, but sometimes the learning curve can be a bit steep. I’m really appreciative of the community for all the support and resources available. Let me know if anyone has insights or tips on these topics!
