Exploring Smart Home Audio and Automation

Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home audio and automation, and it’s been a fascinating journey! :headphones: I recently set up an ESP32-VROOM with a PCM5102a DAC to stream music to my old hifi system, but I ran into a bit of a snag—no sound! After double-checking my wiring and configurations, I realized it might be a firmware issue. I ended up reflashing the ESP32, and voilà, the music started flowing! :notes: It’s amazing how a little tweak can make such a difference.

On the automation front, I’ve been experimenting with modes in Home Assistant. I used to have just three modes: Home, Away, and Night. While it worked, it wasn’t flexible enough for my evolving needs. I’ve since expanded to include modes like Work From Home, Movie Night, and Morning Routine. Each mode now has its own set of rules and automations, making my setup much more dynamic and tailored to my lifestyle. :dart:

I’d love to hear how others are structuring their modes and if there are any best practices or tips you’ve picked up along the way. Also, if anyone has advice on integrating more audio devices seamlessly, I’m all ears! :headphones:耳朵

Cheers to the smart home enthusiasts out there! :rocket:
