Exploring Smart Home Automation: Custom Notifications and Morning Routines

Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and it’s been a fascinating journey. I wanted to share some of my experiences and also ask for your insights on a couple of things I’m exploring.

First off, I’ve been using the Wyze Band for a while now, and while it’s been working great, I’d love to customize the notifications I receive. Right now, it seems like there are only a few predefined categories, and I’d really appreciate the option to set custom notifications, especially for breaking news alerts from apps like NBC BayArea and The New York Times. I’m curious if anyone else has found a workaround or has suggestions on how to achieve this!

On another note, I’ve recently set up a morning routine with my spouse to get ready with music in the mornings. It’s been a nice way to start the day, but I’ve run into a little snag. Since I leave earlier than my spouse, the music transfers to my car, leaving her without the morning playlist. I’m wondering if there’s a way to keep the music playing at home without having to switch profiles on the Echo devices or use her Spotify account. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!

I’d also love to hear about how others have integrated their morning routines or customized notifications in their smart home setups. It’s always inspiring to see how different people approach these challenges!

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and suggestions. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other make our smart homes even smarter!
